The 2016 Natural was produced with 60% Malbec and 40% Syrah from vineyards in Vista Flores that are certified organic and biodynamic. All of the wines ferment with indigenous yeasts, and there are no corrections. The fermentation was in a combination of stainless steel vats, concrete eggs and plastic bins, and the elevage was in 225-liter barriques, oak vats and concrete and lasted 12 months. The wine has a very fresh and floral nose from a challenging year, but they managed nicely. They harvested the Syrah first to provide freshness and the Malbec later to give it more volume. The result is very fresh and balanced, fruit-driven but not very varietal in terms of the Syrah, with more notes from the Malbec. It has moderate alcohol and good acidity. It’s medium-bodied with very fine tannins. Very tasty. 30,000 bottles were filled in December 2017.
