The first proprietary bottling of Highland Park single malt Scotch whisky was as a 12 year old in 1979. It remains the core expression of the Highland Park range. A smooth, balanced single malt. A rich full flavored whisky. Sweet heatherd honey, ripe pear and apple notes coupled with a gentle smokey finish and deep amber color that almost coaxes you to open the bottle.

The expression that started it all for Highland Park. First introduced in 1979, the 12 year old is at the very heart of our core range and demonstrates rich, well balanced malty tones, with the subtle floral smoke which makes Highland Park such a distinctive single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Glowing amber
Nose: Heather-honey sweetness, peaty smokiness
Palate: Rounded smoky sweetness, full malt delivery
Finish: Sweet and lingering with heathery notes and subtle smoke

Elegant, light and pretty. This amber spirit has a light, briny vanilla scent and a silky feel. A veil of smoke rises through the Scotch (but fades out fast), leaving behind a sweet nutty, vanilla finish.

Made in the remote Orkney Islands, this whisky-which Highland Park recently dubbed “Viking Honour”-is meant to evoke the spirit of those rugged Norsemen of yore. Marketing patter aside, the Orcadian peat makes for a floral, perfumey nose with just a hint of smoke-perfect for toting along on a camping trip and sipping by a fire you built with your own two hands.
